Framing 300x300.png

When we frame a piece of artwork or memorabilia, we are handling a small piece of your family history. Every framed piece is crafted with loving care to bring beauty and quality preservation to your cherished pieces. This gallery is a small sample of our favorite projects.

Get your family treasures out from the box in the attic and bring them to Tim Frates Custom Framing and let us bring it to life in a gorgeous custom frame.

Laser Engraving

Laser engraving is the practice of using a laser to etch an object. Laser marking, on the other hand, is a broader category of methods to leave marks on an object, which also includes color change due to chemical/molecular alteration, charring, foaming, melting, ablation, and more. The technique does not involve the use of inks, nor does it involve heads which contact the engraving surface and wear out, giving it an advantage over alternative engraving or marking technologies where inks or bit heads have to be replaced regularly.

Laser Cutting

Laser Cutting 300x300.png

Laser cutting uses the focused energy of a laser to cut through thin layers of materials, like mat, wood, plastics and more. It enables precision cuts that just aren't economical to produce by hand, and honestly are likely better than hand cut. We can cut just about any shape, logo or thin material; we can stack layers and do inlays as well.

Ok, so there's a bit more to it than taking and processing a picture these days. There is the subject, composition, lighting, colors, exposures, paper, ink, Photoshop®, and lots more.

Here's the good news. When we are involved, we take care of all the details except for your involvement. We bring our experience and creativity to the table, or even onto the trail,

We like to use the photographic process to tell a story, your story. Whether it's a senior picture, or images for a brochure, logo or a 50" framed picture of the Black Canyon or a composite photo of #480 out of Silverton and Durango--we love to tell the story.
